SiyaKwazi Organics - Short Skills Program - Workplace Health & Safety

This short course provides learners with the essential skills and knowledge to Maintain Basic Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Standards in the workplace.

By the end of the training, learners will be able to recognize unsafe conditions, take corrective action within their scope of responsibility, and contribute to a culture of safety and environmental care in the workplace. No prior HSE training is required.

NQF Level 2 (244063)

This Skills Programme is aligned with Unit Standard 244063 and designed for individuals across various sectors who need to understand and apply safe work practices in compliance with occupational health and safety regulations. Learners will explore hazard identification, risk assessment, and basic incident prevention strategies, as well as the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

The course also covers environmental awareness, including waste management, pollution prevention, and resource conservation. Practical activities reinforce the importance of maintaining a clean, safe, and environmentally responsible work area.

Purpose of the Qualification

  • Identify and describe basic health and safety statutory and organisational requirements.
  • Employ safe working practices and report health and safety risks associated within an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Describe the environmental principles applicable to an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Describe and implement basic emergency condition practices.
  • Describe and implement good hygiene and housekeeping practices.
