SiyaKwazi Organics - Short Skills Program - Basic Fire Fighter Training

This practical short course provides learners with the fundamental knowledge and skills to perform Basic Fire Fighting in the workplace.

By the end of the training, learners will be competent in assessing fire situations, containing small fires within their scope, and assisting in coordinated workplace emergency responses.

No prior fire fighting experience is required.

This Skills Programme is aligned with SAQA Unit Standard 12484 and designed for individuals in environments where early detection and prompt response to fires can prevent injury, loss of life, and property damage. Learners will understand the basic principles of fire science, including the fire triangle, common causes of workplace fires, and fire prevention strategies.

The course covers correct selection and use of fire extinguishers, hose reels, and other basic equipment, as well as safe evacuation procedures. Emphasis is placed on identifying different classes of fires, applying suitable extinguishing methods, and maintaining personal safety during fire emergencies.
